“This experiential education is a sacred invitation to listen deeply, and awaken to the quiet intelligence within. The answers you seek are not found outside of you — they live in the still spaces of your being, waiting to be heard. Through the alchemy of Yin Yoga, mindfulness, Chinese Medicine, and Taoism, we learn to trust the whispers of the soul and to dwell fully in the body as both temple and teacher"

Sheana O'Sullivan, Program Director

FAQ's

Do I need to be a yoga teacher to join? Answer: Not at all. This training is open to both yoga teachers and dedicated students who feel called to deepen their practice. If you’re a teacher, you’ll gain the tools and confidence to guide Yin classes. If you’re a student, this is a powerful opportunity to explore Yin Yoga in a deeper, more embodied way.

What style of Yin Yoga will I learn? This training blends a functional, anatomy-informed approach with the energetic depth of Traditional Chinese Medicine and mindfulness. We explore Yin as: • A physical practice (fascia, joints, functional movement) • An energetic practice (meridians, Qi, Five Elements) • A meditative practice (presence, awareness, inner listening)

What will a typical training day look like? Each day is designed to feel spacious and experiential (very Yin ). You can expect: • A guided Yin Yoga and grounding mindfulness practice • Teachings on anatomy, fascia, and energetics • Meditation, breathwork, and inquiry • Teaching methodology + practice teaching • Time for integration and reflection

Will I be qualified to teach Yin Yoga after this? Yes. Upon completion, you will receive a 50-hour Yin Yoga certification (Yoga Alliance CE eligible if applicable). You’ll leave feeling confident to: • Sequence and teach Yin classes • Apply function over form principles • Work with meridians and energetic themes • Hold space in a grounded, supportive way

I’m new to Yin Yoga—will this be too advanced? YNot at all. Yin Yoga meets you where you are. This training is accessible yet deep—perfect for beginners with some yoga experience, as well as seasoned practitioners.

What if I miss a session? Because this is an immersive training, full attendance is strongly encouraged. If something unavoidable arises, we’ll support you as best we can—but your presence is an important part of the experience. Please let Sheana know if something urgent comes up and we can talk about make-up hours.

Is there practice teaching? Yes. You’ll be gently guided into teaching in a supportive, non-intimidating environment. This is where your voice begins to emerge.

What should I bring? • Yoga mat • Journal + pen • Layers (for warmth in longer holds) • Any props you love Most importantly—bring curiosity and an open heart.

Where is the training held? YogaFlow, Noe Valley — San Francisco

Who This Training Is NOT For? This training may not be for you if: • You’re looking for a fast-paced, workout-style yoga training • You prefer rigid alignment rules over exploration and individuality • You want a purely physical or fitness-based approach • You’re not open to stillness, introspection, or emotional awareness Yin asks us to slow down, to feel, and to listen. If that feels uncomfortable… that’s often where the doorway is—but it does require a willingness to meet yourself there.
